What is a smart treadmill?

There are several features that make KICKR RUN a smart treadmill. The primary features are RunFree and Automatic Grade Control. RunFree mode uses sensors to automatically adjust the belt speed to your pace based on your position on the treadmill without having to touch a control. The automatic grade control feature adjusts the running surface up and down from a -3% grade to a maximum 15% grade incline. The self adjusting speed and adjustable incline treadmill can be disabled if desired.

How much space will KICKR RUN take up in my home?

KICKR RUN dimensions are: 1,83m L x 0,96m W x 1,5m H. You should have at least 2m of clearance directly behind the KICKR RUN and 0,6m of clearance on each other side.

How does KICKR Run differ from a commercial treadmill?

KICKR RUN is designed as a residential treadmill for in-home use. It contains commercial grade components such as the motor and frame.

What is the treadmill's maximum incline?

KICKR RUN can be adjusted up to 15 percent incline.

Is the control bar height adjustable?

The console is at a fixed height and is not adjustable.

Does the treadmill have a cushioned or shock-absorbent deck for reduced impact?

KICKR RUN utilizes a continuous belt surface that would be similar to a track or hard-packed trail to provide a natural energy return.

What is the difference between a slat surface and belt surface on a treadmill?

A slat treadmill has a belt made of connected rubber slats rather than a continuous belt. The pliable surface of many slat treadmills is forgiving and provides cushioning, but also absorbs vertical energy and limits the natural energy return that propels runners forward. The continuous belt and robust under-belt deck surface of KICKR RUN emulates outdoor surface ground-feel and allows certain muscle groups to respond actively when running indoors. Additionally, the belt surface is quieter than a slatted surface.

Does KICKR RUN require a subscription?

KICKR RUN will connect to many apps and does not require a subscription but certain apps may require their own subscriptions.

Which training apps are compatible with KICKR RUN?

KICKR RUN is compatible with the free Wahoo App, Zwift, Kinomap, Humango, and Peloton.

Can I disable automatic grade control?

A user will have the option to disable the automatic adjustable incline at any time. In addition, a user can manually set the grade of the KICKR RUN instead of using the Zwift running controlled gradient.

Can KICKR Headwind smart fan be used with KICKR RUN treadmill??

Yes, the airflow of KICKR Headwind smart fan aligns with the open console of KICKR RUN and can be controlled in two modes: manual high-medium-low settings and heart rate (responds to a runner’s heart rate to provide more air at higher beats per minute).

How does the optical sensor on KICKR RUN control the speed of the treadmill?

The time of flight optical sensor continuously measures the distance from the console to the runner and our custom motor controller reacts in milliseconds to keep you positioned on the treadmill and adjust your pace as you naturally would outside.
